1 Minute Motivator: A little seasoning goes a long way

“A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!” Mary Poppins

Why? Developing a persona that seeks to speak kind words into the life of another enriches them but it will also help you. Happy people are healthier. Kind people draw people to them. Smiling and being smiled at can lift your spirits, improve your mood and even help your body fight illness.

What? Learn to be the person who encourages. Purpose that you will lift and support the people around you.

How? Start today by looking out for one person who you can say a kind word to. You’re probably always lovely to your family so push yourself. Aim for someone you wouldn’t normally interact with. Can you make them smile?

I know someone who aims to connect with 5 people a day. Just imagine if you did what you suggest to 5 random strangers.

That’s a great idea. We all need meaningful connections and reaching out looking for them would be very proactive. It’s also quite scary too though isn’t it? What if the person we reached out to rejected us?

[[Start today by looking out for one person who you can say a kind word to.]] – absolutely. I’m in the process of doing this, but not in real life. I find it easier to make friends with people on the web. hehe.

You made me smile Ryhen. You’re right. I can be much easier to make friends from the safety of a computer screen and I have some great friends online who I’ve never met in ‘real life’. However, despite all the great connections and fun online, I’d be a poorer person without offline relationships. Maybe practice online first but I’d suggest giving it a go offline too. Be brave, it might have very exciting consequences.

    Eleanor,

Very inspirational, a little late for me to do what you suggest for today. I’ll make it my business to do it tomorrow.

    Regards

I am a much more better person after i read this article. I’ll be starting a new outlook in life as soon as i step out of my home today. I’ll try to reach out to a lot of people as i could. This inspires me.

    Thanks.
