“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.” – Dahara
Wait for the right opportunity, the perfect moment, the ideal circumstances and you’ll be hanging on a very long time. Get out there and jump on board.
Why?
We spend a long time thinking about and planning for the future. Some folks have everything on hold until they retire. For others, saving money before starting a family is key. Still others are putting off that much anticipated business start-up until the economic current picks up.
Whilst it’s good to plan and prepare, using this stage as an excuse to put the brakes on is a cop out. The planning phase is called a phase for a reason, it isn’t meant to last forever!
What?
Stop procrastinating and start acting!
How?
Whatever your aspiration, pick three things that you can do right now that will propel you forward and out of the planning phase.
If your dream is to sail around the world and you’ve not yet learned how captain your ship, book yourself some lessons. If you’d love to start a family, visit your doctor or chemist and talk to a professional about the best vitamin supplements to ensure your baby gets the best start (hint: folic acid is the most important
)
Whatever your big idea, there are things you can do today to move toward it. For some this means paddling before you can swim but at least you’re getting your feet wet
