1 Minute Motivator: Love the little things

Today’s 1 Minute Motivator is more of an on-going thought process throughout your day. It will only take about a minute of your time but that minute will be spaced out a bit ;)

My eldest daughter turns 7 today. As I was writing today’s motivator, I was thinking about her birthday preparations and the general air of excitement such a day brings. And then I remembered last week.

Last week my daughter learned to ride her bike without stabilizers. She’d gone out into the back alley with her dad and younger sister while my son and I stayed in the garden. After a short time, he decided he’d like to see what was going on so we too went out into the alley.

Boy, was I glad we did! Within a few moments, we all witnessed her peddling down the alley with fury. She stopped and was greeted by wild cheers and applause. I would not have missed that moment for all the world. It was brilliant!

As you go on with today, keep a look out for the little things that can fill you with delight and make your day just that little bit more special. It might not be as monumental as a child’s first, but if it makes you smile, it’s important :)

    Hi Eleanor!

Thanks for reminding me that often it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.

      Hi Steve,
Thanks for stopping by. I all too easily forget about the lovely little things, particularly when things get a little crazy! It’s great to be able to take a moment to just sit and enjoy.

    Eleanor,
I also have a 7 year old daughter and every day I try to pause and reflect and it really is the small things like a laugh or smile that brightens my day. What a really great idea and great blog you have created here!

      Thanks Dan :)
These 1 minute motivators don’t often get a lot of comments (I guess it’s the nature of them) but I know from the number of views that people like having something short and sweet to mull over during the day.

I bet like me you can hardly believe where the last 7 years have gone. Is she your eldest?

Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you again soon,
      Eleanor

    Eleanor,
Nice meeting you, I was at Dave’s blog that I came across your comment. Thought I came in and say hi.

Happy belated birthday to your sweet child. I love how you motivate your readers by treasuring the little things in life. Children can be such great inspirations for us with their innocence and will to explore. Never ceased to amazed me when being around with my nephews/niece. :-) Yes, I’m yet a mom but I know it’ll be an awesome experience, someday perhaps.

Great message, keep up the good work.

      Hi Ching Ya :)
Lovely to meet you and thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely commment. I love waking up to comment like this, makes it all worth while.

I’ve been over to your place before but had been a lurker. I’ll certainly aim to resolve that ;) I love your theme btw. Do you do most of your networking via Twitter? Your litle blue bird is very cool! Looks like he’s dancing to a tune in his head.

Thanks again for visiting and I look forward to seeing you around,
      Eleanor

ha.. I’m glad you met the bluebird. Most of the time I think he did more welcoming work than me with that eye-pleasing dance on top of my posts. :) Gotta admit that’s what made me chose the theme. (yes, Twitter is one of my frequented networking spots)

Appreciate your comment too. It’s always great to meet inspiring people like you who gave insightful comments. ^^ Looking forward to read more from your site.

Thanks Ching Ya. Great to meet you too. I assummed the bluebird was a special little chap you had to hatch yourself (so to speak ;) ) so impressed he came with the theme.

Have a great day. Catch up with you later.

I started having a daily motivator everyday a few months ago and I feel like it is really helping me out you know? It gives you something to focuse your mind to and keep your goals in place. Glad you do that to!
