“Patience is a virtue. Possess it if you can. Seldom found in women. Never in a man!”
This is one of my mothers most quoted expressions. Having heard it as a child, it’s stuck with me through thick and thin.
As I was tinkering with bits of website code yesterday after having nothing like enough sleep (completely self inflicted so don’t give it another thought!) I could hear my mum’s words ringing in my ears. I’ll be honest, I didn’t appreciate the phrase until I finished persisting and got the code doing what it was meant to
However, for our 1 minute motivator today I’d love you to encourage you to appreciate what patience and persistence you already have. According to my mum’s maxim, chances are it’s in small supply
Therefore, I’d also encourage you to practice.
How do we practice being patient? It’s a very practical skill. We hone it by doing. Be on the look out today for proving to yourself just how patient and persistent you can be

I am so not in to patience. I want things to work first time. I have redos. I go on to other things rather than digging in and getting it right. It is a daily struggle. If your mother is right. Maybe I shouldn’t even try.

Hi Ralph,
) but I don’t believe it has to be true. There are some things that it’s worth being patient and persistent over. Look at you and your son. From what I hear, you displayed patience with him
Unfortunately my mum is often right (as she enjoys telling me
I remember hearing a story of a lady who prayed and asked God to give her patience. A little while later she was sat in a cafe moaning about her husband. A man spoke with her and suggested that rather than zapping her with a never-ending supply of patience, perhaps God would instead supply her with the opportunities to practice being patient. Works for me

I meant about men being incapable of patience.
