We all like to think that we’re very good at being ever so polite and thankful, but how often do you make a purposeful decision to look for things to be thankful for in your fellow human being? I like to think that I always say thank you when someone holds a door open for me. When my lovely husband cooks me a yummy meal, I always thank him.
However, what would happen if we took some time today to thank people for those things that go largely unnoticed or unthanked? My daughter just gave me a lovely hug. Did I thank her for that?
The caretaker at work who took the chairs down before I ever got to class. The cleaners who came in the evening before and beautified my classroom. The car that waited at the traffic lights just a moment longer so I could cross the road safely.
Think about it as you go about your day. Thanking people with genuine warmth has an amazing effect and will probably make their day just that little bit more special. Go for it! (And don’t forget to come back later and tell us how you got on
)
Over to you. What happened?

I do make a special effort to thank everyone. My mum always taught me to be polite.
However, saying thank you is not enough. You don’t just want to be doing it becuase you feel you should (or you read it on here) Make eye contact, smile and say thank you.
You mean it then.
