Have you ever watched a cat wakes up from a nap? The way she yawns and stretches her entire body? That’s what we’re going to do today, but it’s going to be a little different to what you might be expecting. Yes, I do believe that a full body stretch is awesome first thing in the morning. There’s something about a really good stretch that feels wonderful and refreshing and yet relaxing, all at the same time.
However, having done your full body stretch, have a think about what you’ve got planned for today. If you’ve got children then part of your day may centre around getting them to and from school. If you work a regular nine to five job, your day too may be pretty organised without you having to think about it too much.
And here’s where the boundaries come in … whatever you’re ‘meant’ to be doing today, see if you can push yourself in some way. It might be a physical challenge such as running up and down the stairs where you would normally walk or take the lift. Perhaps you’d like to stretch yourself creatively by doing some painting with your children or even better, making some play dough and having a go at modelling a funny creature! (If you need an easy recipe for play dough, try this one
)
Use your imagination. You can use today’s motivator in any way you want to. If you’d like to use it as an excuse to try something completely new and terrifying, go for it. Just be sure to some back and tell us how it went
Over to you. What did you do? How did it make you feel?

It’s just another one of the ways you can Give A Brick and then tell your friends

Hi Eleanor,
I just joined a gym a few days ago and took it pretty easy and ended up so stiff it was painful to walk. However, I now know that if I do the same again tomorrow, I won’t feel stiff because my muscles are already adapting. Then I can start to push myself physically a bit more every week.
I also read that we should mimic cats and do a full body stretch for a few second and take a few deep breaths. It’s good for the circulation and metabolism.

Hi Gordie,
Thanks for stopping by. I can relate to that feeling. Everyone talks about how good exercise is for you but for me, it’s getting started that is most difficult. Sounds like you have a positive outlook on the whole process though. Nice one
I love cat stretches, they feel lush
I haven’t looked into the scientific benefits. I just enjoy it because it makes me feel better.

Cool!!! I’m always one for adding a little interesting spice in my day.
Usually for myself, I’ll just find a different way to do the things I already do.
Good post! keep it up!
