Calling all artists & writers: Christmas with @TylinaVespart & doing a happy salsa thanks to @DanielleLaPorte

Christmas in June? Oh yes. It happens every year in my head: June 2nd, birthday. June 3rd, time to start thinking about Christmas ;)

Seriously though, I was talking to our wonderful Heather over the weekend about birthdays (I’ve promised to get her a copy of Crush It! if no one else has done so by the time hers rolls round in early September) and how I’d forgotten to ask you if you’d like to Give A Brick in lieu of a birthday card.

Never mind, we both concluded, won’t be long until Christmas! Which is when we started talking about cards and badges and then, Heather suggested the most marvellous of ideas – an on-line Give A Brick advent calender.

Being a wonderfully talented 3D artist, Heather knew she’d be able to help. Isn’t she kind :) It might be another 6 months until Christmas but even so, we concluded that all those pictures, all by herself, was a lot of work. That’s where you come in ;)

Watch this short video, it will explain all (and is a lot more fun than just reading about it here) but in case you just don’t like videos (or you really can’t be bothered – shame on you!) the short version is, we’re asking all artists and writers to get involved with Christmas@GiveABrick.com by sending pictures and/or poems to be used for the Give A Brick on-line advent calender.

Here’s the video:

And the happy salsa?

Wonderful Danielle LaPorte of White Hot Truth and The Fire Starter Sessions has very kindly said yes and donated a copy of her amazing Fire Starter Sessions to Give A Brick. I can’t wait to get started on all that she has with this so Give A Brick can totally rock the rest of 2010 :D

P.S.

It’s not too late to Give A Brick (£1) in lieu of a birthday card. Just click the cake below and you’ll be taken safely to Paypal ;) And, thank you :) xx

Firstly can I say how much I love what you’re wearing in that video (Evil Grin)

OK, I’m not one for drawing these days but I have written a Xmas poem which you are quite welcomed to use.

I can’t wait to see what Heather comes up with, I know how talented she is.

Thanks Sire. You like my tinsel dress eh? Glad to have caused some amusement ;)

And thank you for the poem. You are the first person to get involved. That’s got to be worthy of a tweet, I’ll see to it before the day is out :)

Heather is going to be awesome. She’s also doing Christmas cards and badges for us (so if you fancy a GAB Christmas badge on your site nearer the time, you know where to come ;) )

I don’t think amusement would be the word I would have used Eleanor. ;) All I can say is it was lucky I had the cold shower handy. :D

Lol at you two – almost wish I had the chance to watch the vid at the moment now :P (no volume available)

And Sire! I’m honoured. Do think you’re both exaggerating a bit though =)

Can’t wait to get started, El we’ll need to brainstorm some things for the calendar/cards/etc at some point over the summer (not urgent though) and I’ll probably start work when I get back.
