This is now the second Monday running when we’re celebrating with our Give A Brick friends as they embark on exciting newness. I can’t promise this will be a weekly thing (unless of course all our friends keep being awesome) but since the whole premise of Give A Brick is the power of little things all working together and love and friendship and thankfulness, I thought it was important to give something back to our friends when we can.
To that end, if you’re a Give A Brick friend and you’re about to do something cool or have something you’d like us to do a happy dance with you over, talk to me. I have sensitive ears. (I was going to say big but they’re really not!) I pick up on a lot of stuff because I’m incredibly inquisitive (read: nosy) but I’m not infallible.
So today I have two friends and their excitement to share with you. Top of the list is our resident goal setter (I don’t say that lightly. Long term planning was pretty sparse before this friend came along and gave us a hand) and all round smiley guy Ben Lumley. He announced it officially yesterday but I didn’t think he’d mind another shot at telling the world about his exciting developments.
Taking my inspiration from Sire when he very kindly told his readers about our Christmas video, I’m not going to tell you any more about Ben’s announcement. It would be far better for you to go over to his place and hear all about it first hand. All I will say is that it comes with a new tag line The Ben Lumley: Accept No Limitations. Check it out and let him know what you think.
The other friend who I need to give another honourable mention to is Jennifer Jinright. I can’t overstate how hard this lady has worked in the few short months I’ve known her. She’s everywhere right now! And today she is launching a competition. Because it’s still only a little after 6am, the post I wanted to link to isn’t up yet. Instead, check out her 15 Favourite Posts for June (we’re in there
) and hopefully you’ll also find a link to the competition very, very soon. I will of course edit this and add the link just as soon as it’s up.
I’d love to round up this celebration with news of another Give A Brick friend becoming a dad for the very first time but in true ‘The Best Things Come To Those Who Wait’ style, Baby Big Red Tomato is still a no show. (At the time of writing
) Hang in there Mrs BRT. It’ll all be worth it.
As for the rest of you, if you’re a loose end, why not read about Matthew’s fabulous idea for a Facebook landing page. (Hey M, any chance of a freebie if we big you up enough?
) Seriously though, it’s a cool idea. And no, he didn’t pay me to say that!
NEWS FLASH: I’ve just had a tweet from Matthew. And I quote:
“Most stressful day of my life. Baby boy – Sam. 9.95lbs born 4.51pm”
Congratulations to Matthew and his lovely Mrs BRT xxx
Oooh, I almost forgot, if you’re reading this after 10am, check out my Literary Adventure Series over at Heather’s Shades of a Dream blog. We’re finishing Danny today and you’re going to love it!
And now it’s over to you. It’s Monday. What are you getting all excited and skippy about this fine day? I’d love to hear about it.

Excellent. I can’t wait to read all about it
I meant what I said though, you’ve worked so hard. A shining example
As for Ben, I wouldn’t worry. I’m sure he got your humour
And yes, poor Mrs BRT. I’m told they know it’s a little boy but I’ll bet she’s getting pretty hot and fed up now. Not fun.

You’re very welcome Ben
I’m often heard saying that we do warm and fuzzy feelings well here at Give A Brick. What I didn’t say in the post was that you’ve been really kind in getting involved with our search for monthly columnists. I think as such, you deserve a little bit of a party when cool stuff happens don’t you?
As for silliness, I don’t know what you mean
