Delighted!

I’ll be the first to admit that I am easily pleased but I can not tell you how happy I am with the new site layout. I want to run around like a little child showing it to everyone!!

May I take this opportunity to say a massive public thank you to the team behind the genius that is Word Press and the equally talented people at BytesForAll.com “Thank you” :D

This has been a long 24 hours but also very fun and rewarding and that is due in no small measure to you guys.

I have to give the biggest praise to God though. I didn’t get to bed until a little after 1am this morning and was up with the children by 6:15am. In less that 16 hours, He has guided me to manipulate this site’s facelift and it’s been a blast! Praise God!

Here’s to many more happy posts :D

Love El x

Hi El! Great Job! I have tried to get into wordpress, but struggled with it a bit. I think its one of those things that you have to bite the bullet and cross the knowledge (and pain) threshhold.

Now how can I help? Well, I have a small network sort of Art and Blender3d related. Take a look at my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Roytheartist) (I must make it prettier) Some of my watercolor tut’s have had 4000 plus views in 7 months. I average 2-300 views a day across the channel.

I also have invented SimmTrace, and about to sell some on ebay. Details on http://www.simmtrace.com/ Now howabout a competition of sorts? If your readers like the idea, send you photos of views landscapes etc (their own photos) They would like turned into a watercolour, then buy a brick to cover entry, winner gets thir view drawn with SimmTrace and painted in watercolour by me. I would make a video of it being done to post as an advert for st and give-a-brick. Would this be of interest? Oh and I could blog details of the compo, and a vid to promote prior to the ‘cut off’ date. Let me know.

    Roy.

    Hi Roy,
Thank you for your kind and words :) I was very, very fortunate that this time round, Word Press was a breeze. But I say ‘this time round’ because I have played with it before. This time it was with a lot more purpose and I am convinced I had help from above. I didn’t know God ‘did’ WordPress but honestly, it was really, really easy this time. I went to bed last night in something of a daze when I thought about how much had been done in so little time!

And yes please, if you’d like to help like this, that would be awesome :D Thank you so much!

I’ll need a little time to have a look at the vid and think about timing of a competition (any specific thoughts you have on this, please drop me an email) etc. but thank you so much for your enthusiasm and support, it means a lot.

And when you get back on Ebay, don’t forget that conversation we had in late 2007 ;)
Many thanks again and have a good weekend,
    El x

    Hi again,
A thought just popped into my head: Does YouTube allow you to customize your page at all? Another ‘to do’ for this week is GAB badges for websites. When I get this done and assumming there is room for some customization on YouTube, I’ll send you a badge ;)

I rather think you can embed YouTube into your own website somehow, so it all looks joined up.

    What badges?

    Hi Egg,
Thanks for the tips RE YouTube ;)

As for badges, really we should call them ‘bricks’ shouldn’t we?! They’ll be little mini Give A Brick logos in a few different designs that people (such as Roy) can add to their website to show their support for Give A Brick. Will also help raise the profile of the charity too and that’s always good ;)

    Elx
