After my lovely husband banned me from shaving my hair off for Give A Brick, I asked our wonderful treasurer and trustee if he might kindly oblige instead. Admittedly, he has a lot less hair than me but as I warned his wife, there’s always the danger that it won’t grow back

He agreed but has added a twist … he’ll gladly do it but not before he’s raised £10,000 for Give A Brick! Talk about an ambitious total. In the meantime, he won’t cut his hair … hence the ‘pony tail’ in this post title.
We’re in the process of registering with Just Giving so as soon as we’ve done so, you can keep a check on how close he’s getting to his target amount.
In the meantime, please get the ball rolling by sponsoring him. You can do it online by visiting our ‘give’ page: www.GiveABrick.com/give
And of course, if you know our Egg in ‘real life’ feel free to ask him for his sponsor form which he’s promised to keep on his person at all times
Our wonderful video and photography expert Craig Woodhams is keeping a daily visual journal of Dr Egg’s hair as the £10,000 target grows closer. I’ll be sure to post some more pictures when the pony tail is looking imminent!
In the meantime, here’s a couple more ‘before’ photos to get you started:
And finally, if you’re a barber or hairdresser in the West Wales area who would like a bit of free publicity and is game for a laugh, please get in touch. Once he hits his target we’ll need someone to shave it all off

£40 down, £9,960 to go
Actually, that’s not strictly true as I know there’s been some offline sponsoring too. Will update when I get the figures.

Hmm. I have come up with a problem. Some people who work closely with me want to sponsor me not to cut my hair and grow the pony tail. Perhaps we should go for both options and see which wins!

Well unless you have some very rich friends, I suspect it will take some time to raise the £10,000 needed for a shave anyway so sounds like everyone might win.
However, we could add a twist … you could ask people to either sponsor you to shave your head or grow the pony tail, keep the two completely separate and like you suggest, whichever raises £10K first is the one you go with?!
But you’ll need some new sponsor forms if we do it this way
If I were to email you a new form, have you got access to a reasonable printer?

It could be worse, we could have the two options running concurrently and the winner would be the one who was £10k in the lead over the other option

You’d better speak to your wife. At that rate, you might never get it cut!
Hello,

Hi Nadine,
We have online sponsorship available now via BMyCharity so 2010 should see the Egg get his locks cut
Look out for a post later today with the details from BMyCharity.
Thanks for the encouragement
Happy New Year!
