Eleanor decided that I needed to get on and write a new post as I have been somewhat idle. Others might suggest I have been back at work and therefore somewhat distracted by that which pays the mortgage.
Either way, it has been hard to wonder what might be worth sharing.
I was attracted by the work that Heather has been sharing on her blog at shadesofadream.com (Apologies Heather for not commenting but have been really interested and very impressed by some of those screen shots of the interface you are working with).
It’s funny how your mind (OK funny how MY mind, I can’t strictly speak for yours) can drift! As I thought about Heather, I reflected at what my number 3 son-in-law gets up to. Like Heather, he is in to animation. Unlike Heather, he is less disciplined at remembering to post stuff to his blog. However, while he spends a lot of time at the computer, he also works with time lapse photography. He was given a make your own Morph kit for Christmas.
Not content to just mould the plastercine, he went on and did the complete Tony Hart animation bit. When he showed his efforts to the kit manufacturer, they put it on their website and gave him a prize! Well chuffed is he
However, now that he’s done Morph, he’s working on a Doctor Egg animation for Give a Brick! I’ve pulled a couple of pictures from his Facebook page:

As I understand it, to get his Egg to talk, he needs a set of different mouths to make the words form. I await with baited breath, his animated appearance on the Give A Brick website!
However, as my mind wandered, I found myself returning to the two Animusic DVD’s that I bought myself for Christmas. (“What?” I hear you cry, “bought yourself? Unfortunately, yes. I could not resist, it was too close to Christmas and I’d been looking at the various little bits available on Youtube for the best part of a couple of years since my little brother Roy The Artist introduced them to me) So for your delectation, here’s a short clip:

Wow, thanks for the mention! I had no idea you were a fan, that just made my day.
Also, what a coincedence; I got the Make your own Morph kit for Christmas too! Not really played with mine yet though, but congratulations Craig. Looks like he’s doing a lot of good work there.

Heather, as you may have guessed, I am full of admiration over the skills of you artists, be they traditional or modern. My brother (www.roytheartist.com) once created a 3D image of the garden I was planning and then did a fly through. Years later, with everything now growing, it looks remarkably like his concept piece.
Keep up the good work.

here is the link to the morph video in question btw

Thank’s Craig. I think we will have to ask Eleanor to put hyperlinks in a better colour or underline them. I did include the link to Morph in the original post and Heather certainly seems to have found it but it may be less than obvious.

ah yes so you did, lol didn’t even see it, so changing the colour would be a good call me thinks
Btw el, do i have an account on here? and if i do, can u send me the details as i have no idea what they are lol many thanks.

I’ll change the colour to a deep purple later (will fit with the colour of the sub headings
)
As for user details, I think you did have some, I’ll check. If not, you can register using the ‘login’ button at the top. To get your photo to show, you’ll need to visit gravatar.com Very quick and easy and then you’ll have a universal image linked to your email address

Oh cool, another website to watch – may have to go along and say hi
And thank you – only just getting used to being called an artist, so it’s still weird (and nice) to hear!
Btw Craig – update your blog! I went on to have a look and you seriously need an about and contacts page, along with some new posts. Why’d you stop?

Craig explained to me that he tried it out when he got his Apple. What we’ll have to do is get El to show him how to set up a WordPress blog (I’ve got load’s of spare URL’s but he could even get his own) then he’ll be well away. Mind you, given that we are waiting to see his Egg Head talking, perhaps we should get him to post here as part of the community!
That’d be cool too
Just so long as he gets one set up! Seemed like he had a good thing going there, so it’s a shame to leave it like that.
Even if he only ever posts on here though, he’s welcome to try guest posting on my blog if he wanted.

Craig has his own url: http://www.thewoodhamsfamily.co.uk
Nothing there right now but setting up a wordpress blog would be super easy. If he has cpanel access he can probably do it with one click but will chat about it later

Dr. Egg,
It takes a lot of balls to make music that way.

LOl Very good Ralph
Had to rescue you from the spam my friend but glad I did
Twitter: TheDrEgg
Yep. Have to agree, Ralf, probably one of the better one-liners!

whoohoo, I am now properly registered

How exactly do i change my picture too? as i cant find it in the profile page thingy. No rush however. Also, the Dr Egg claymation stuff is currently on hold till i get final cut express, as my current video editing software wont allow me to lip sync with precision.

Cool
As for picture, you need to register your email address and image with http://www.gravatar.com
Very easy and makes you visible all over the web
