Do you remember what happened last week?
Really?
A couple of big events, sure, but if you’re like me all the rest becomes one big lump of, “Oh, you know. I did stuff. Answered emails. Went bowling! And… lots of other things, I guess, but I can’t really remember.”
You know, I bet you had twenty accomplishments, a hundred tiny successes and a thousand good decisions. If you could remember them you’d feel great about the work you’re doing instead of wondering wistfully if you’re making a difference. (It’s not just me? That’s a relief.)
Let’s test it!
For the next week, keep a list of all the great things that happen.
- A comment that says, “Love this post, so thoughtful!”
- The new prospect that signs up
- When your partner smiles at you and whispers, “I love you.”
- An excellent workout
- Taking the washing in five minutes before it starts to rain
- People sharing your links
- The products you sold
- The money you gave to charity
- Every compliment you receive
- The smart decision that saved you twenty minutes
By the end of the week, that list will be six miles long. And when someone asks you, “So, how did your week go?” you’re going to have a fantastic answer for them.
