Welcome to our first ever Saturday Smoothy, an opportunity to reflect on the week and remember some of the highlights you may have missed. As is often the case when you learn a valuable lesson, it’s been a memorable week. If nothing else, I’ve learned this week just how much support and encouragement there is out there for Give A Brick. I guess if you had to sum this week up in one word you’d choose the word ‘people’ and this is reflected both in lessons learned and this week’s posts.
The format of this weekly post will evolve over time but for today at least, here’s what you’ve missed if this is your first visit to Give A Brick this week:
- What do you do when your bottle threatens to pop? Have you ever got so frustrated, you felt like you would explode? Me too. Here’s what you can do to minimize the damage.
- 1 Minute Motivator: People are your greatest resource People are your greatest resource. If you can’t get along with people, you’re screwed. It doesn’t matter how smart or creative you are. Learn how to put this simple truth into action and improve your relationships today.
- Five things every child needs to hear If you had a way of zapping five messages into the understanding of your children, what would they be and why? Learn the most important messages your children need to hear.
- I hate surprises. How about you? I didn’t construct a great description for this post because it was basically just a round up of the new structure I’m putting in place for Give A Brick. You might still like to read what the plan is and you can do so here.
- 1 Minute Motivator: Do small things in a great way Napolean Hill said, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.” Learn why.
- Wednesday Warmer: I love living life, I am happy! Having introduced the new Wednesday Warmer, designed to bring a smile to your face and help you overcome ‘hump day’, I could think of no better start than to invite Nick Vujicic into our day again.
- Thoughtful Thursday: The day I learned to really appreciate my friends This was the April Fool’s day joke that should never have been. You live and learn though. Next year I promise to just tell you a happy story instead.
- 1 Minute Motivator: How to avoid an argument “The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.” ~ Dale Carnegie. In this one minute motivator, learn the secrets of avoiding arguments.
- Friday Friends: Hanging my head in shame After the disaster that was April Fool’s Day, this is me saying sorry to my friends. It’s painful for me to read but it had to be done.

Wow, are you ever prolific. There are some real gems that I missed so I appreciate your new Saturday Smoothy round-up. In fact, I think your alliteration post themes are a fantastic idea. Very creative!

Thanks Karen
I’m hoping the themes should help with planning things a little better. Up until now I’ve decided what to write about as the whim takes me but that’s not so condusive to good organisation
