This isn’t a new idea and it’s been talked about elsewhere on the site already. However, having just ordered a little bit of Christmas shopping over the web, now seemed as good a time as any to remind you about a brilliant way you can give whilst shopping:
Here at Give A Brick we’ve been a little slow at telling people about this nifty little site. As a result, only 15 people currently Give to Give A Brick whilst shopping. However, those 15 people have together raised over £200! That’s 200 bricks at no extra cost to anyone other than the giant retailers who already get enough of my money anyway.
Getting started is very easy. (You don’t even have to register if you can’t be bothered!) Just go to: www.TheGivingMachine.co.uk and click on the big purple ‘SHOP’ button in the middle of the page. Scroll down and find the shop you want to shop in (some of the most popular ones are near the top but they’re also organised alphabetically) and click on the shop’s logo.
At this point, a new screen will open telling you that they don’t know who you want to Give to. If you’d like to register, now is the time to do so. This will allow you to see how much you’re Giving to Give A Brick with each shopping spree. If you’d prefer not to bother, click on ‘Give Anonymously’ and type ‘Give A Brick’ into the search box that appears. Click on ‘choose’ and you’ll be automatically redirected to the shop you want to shop in. Easy!
If you don’t already Give for free whilst shopping, do me a favour and try it the next time you order online. It really is easy and allows lovely charities to get something back from the retailers at no cost to you. Just think, when you give you Auntie Annie her favourite tipple on the 25th, you can tell her she’s drinking for charity. That’s my Dad’s excuse anyway
