You Shop, They Give

After talking a little at Christmas time about the wonders of online shopping for charities such as ourselves, I’ve been thinking about setting a mini-challenge. Fifteen registered shoppers have raised over £200 for Give A Brick by doing what they enjoy doing anyway, shopping. Therefore, I’d like to see if we can encourage an extra 5 people to give while they shop by the end of January. That’s 5 extra people in just 21 days! That doesn’t sound too tricky does it?

However, I need your help. If everyone who reads this registers with TheGivingMachine, chooses Give A Brick as their beneficiary (and you can choose up to four if you’d like to support more than one lovely charity) and then encourages their friends to do the same, we’ll easily smash our January goal. Actually, better than that, if everyone did their online shopping via TheGivingMachine and nominated Give A Brick we’d never need to ask you to Give A Brick again. The online retailers would give the bricks for you ;)

If you’re new to The Giving Machine and would like a step by step how to, read the post I wrote about Christmas shopping online. Otherwise, please click here to go straight to TheGivingMachine to register. It’s worth me mentioning that whilst anyone can use the site, many of the shops registered with them are UK based businesses. I’m still investigating a US alternative. If you find a good one, please let me know via our contact form or leave a comment below. Thanks :)

Finally, if you have your own website or bog and would like to help us with this challenge, please have a look at our Giving Machine page here on the site. It has code you can use to add a banner to your site. Thanks for your help :)

Did you enjoy this post? Please Give A Brick. It’ll only cost a quid ;)

Over to you. What do you think? Got any clever ideas how we can hit our target?
Please add a comment and retweet.
It’s just another one of the ways you can Give A Brick and then tell your friends
;)

I went to give a brick but they don’t make it all that easy. Too bad they do not use paypal. Reckon I’ll just place you in my blogroll instead.

Hi Sire,
Thanks for the feedback, that’s actually very helpful because someone from here in the UK talked about Paypal just yesterday. I guess we need to explore Paypal pretty swiftly if we’re going to get serious about everyone giving a brick ;)

I’ll let you know when we get Paypal but in the mean time, thank you for adding Give A Brick to your blog roll.
